After we closed the Centre, I accompanied Adam and Francine from the Health Team to the EPS at Charring Cross. They were taking someone over to get a mental health assessment, so that this referral could then help him to get a long-term bed at the hostel. He had been using the emergency bed space next door so far.

He obviously found it helpful to have all of us go with him. Unfortunately, only one of us could go with him to the follow-up appointment the next day. This seems to affect him very badly, to the extent that he refused to go to the appointment and then stormed off. This was when it hit me; you always need to have your walkie-talkie on you in case these kinds of situations get out of hand.
