Broadway Timebank
Broadway runs the Timebank as a means of skills exchange between clients. It is a way for clients to come together to help others and help themselves at the same time.
Clients 'deposit' their time in the bank by giving practical help and support to others and are able to 'withdraw' their time when they need something done themselves. Timebanking is a way of increasing client involvement and rewarding those who get involved.
Giving and Receiving Time
Time banks measure and value all the different kinds of help and skills we can offer each other. In a time bank, everyone becomes both a giver and a receiver.
Everyone's time is valued equally : One hour = 1 time credit
Clients can help each other out through one of the time-banking taster sessions held at either Arlington or the Broadway Day Centre. They can also earn credits through the Green Stewards Initiative in their hostel and exchange them through the timebank as a means of skills exchange, or redeem them for various rewards.
