Share to Buy Ltd, the shared ownership mortgage broker and affordable homes property business, proposed an innovative way to support Broadway’s work with homeless people in London.

Now, on completion of any mortgage arranged by Share to Buy Ltd, £10 will be donated to Broadway, and new homeowners are offered an opportunity to match this donation.

Not only do our services benefit financially from this generous donation, it also provides us with an invaluable opportunity to inform new homeowners about our work, reaching people who otherwise may never of heard of Broadway.

James Cartlidge, Director of sharetobuy.com, said:

“We are pleased to confirm that from now on, for every mortgage we arrange we will be donating £10 to Broadway. So, when our customers walk through the door of their new home for the first time, they will receive a card from our team congratulating them, informing them of our donation and asking them to consider matching it or more.”

In terms of how the relationship was established, James Cartlidge said:

“Sharetobuy.com is very much about helping first time buyers in its day do day commercial activities, but we have become increasingly conscious of the broader problems in housing and wanted to do our bit to try and make a difference for those who have no home at all. We picked up on Broadway’s work through Inside Housing and felt that there was potential synergy in that we are both organisations facing a very challenging environment, yet trying to be innovative to assist our clients. Ultimately, people buying their first home are part of the same society as the vulnerable people Broadway are trying to keep off the streets, and we think it can only be beneficial if the success of the former helps in some way to relieve the hardship of the latter”.
