As the first step towards drafting his Housing Strategy, the Mayor has published a consultation paper, Towards the Mayor’s Housing Strategy. This paper builds on Capital Homes, the current London Housing Strategy. Broadway has responded to the consultation and hopes that responses such as ours will facilitate the development of this consultation into a clear and coherent strategy. Specifically Broadway would like the Housing Strategy to:
Deliver a co-ordinated response to housing needs pan-London
Be linked with the government’s Supporting People strategy
Invest in more supported housing
Have specific focus on vulnerable people and groups - reviewing and addressing their specific needs
Develop real housing options alongside employment, transport, amenities and economic opportunities.
