Routes into London’s homelessness services: the experiences of A8 nationals
16th October 2007
This report, funded by the Ashden Trust, explores the experiences of 32, A8 nationals accessing single homelessness services in London. The report explores the expectations of A8 nationals before arriving in the UK and their experiences of seeking work, accommodation and support in the UK. The research follows Homeless Link’s quantitative survey about the number of A8 migrants accessing homelessness services (2006).
The report includes a summary of existing information about homelessness amongst A8 nationals and results from qualitative interviews with the 32 research participants. Both the summary and full reports include recommendations for the British Government, the EU, Embassies of A8 countries and homelessness agencies developed by the Steering Group which included representatives from agencies working with A8 nationals, Homeless Link and the Ashden Trust.
