A longitudinal analysis of CHAIN data

Broadway launches ground breaking study of London’s rough sleepers supported by Communities and Local Government (CLG). Providing extensive analysis of the data collected about rough sleeping in London since the late 1990s, this research is essential reading for those working in the field of street homelessness.

The research explores: who sleeps rough and what their backgrounds and experiences are including nationality, ethnicity, age, drug and alcohol use and mental health. It looks at how long people spend on the streets, how they use hostel accommodation and the effectiveness of routes off the streets.

The report explores various groups of rough sleepers from the majority who spend very little time on the streets to the concerning minority of people who sleep rough over many years.
