Broadway Manor Place is a purpose built project in Southwark, providing specialist housing and support for single homeless women aged 16 upwards. All clients have medium to high support needs with substance use and alcohol use and abuse issues being the most pertinent issues for many of the women.
The accommodation is divided into 24 semi self contained units and 10 en-suite rooms. All units are self-catering. We have a large ground floor communal lounge and a spacious garden. The facilities include a TV area, two laundries, and a resource room with internet facilities. Clients can take part in regular groups and drop-in sessions on subjects such as work and learning, healthy eating, managing substance use.
Support is offered through the key-worker system. Key workers support clients using client led needs assessments and support plans. The plans are designed to address specific needs and measure progress through the support service. As part of the tenure agreement women must engage in the support services offered.
Women stay at Manor Place for approximately two years and then move on to accommodation suitable to their needs. Move on options include the private rented sector, supported housing schemes and some, but very limited access to, local authority and housing association properties.
Priority is given to referrals from LB Southwark, but we also assist women who are referred by a range of voluntary agencies from neighbouring boroughs.
Volunteer
We are always looking for keen and committed volunteers who can offer a few hours a week volunteering at the hostel.
