The Lambeth Assessment Centre aims to end the need to sleep on the streets and prevent homelessness in the borough, by providing a rapid and thorough assessment for people’s housing and support needs.
Lambeth’s Outreach Team will refer rough sleepers to the 28 bed centre, where they will be assessed to identity the most appropriate form of supported or independent living, as well as their needs around mental health, drugs and alcohol.
The expected stay at the assessment centre in no longer than 3 weeks, so that people are referred to a more appropriate, longer term service as quickly as possible.
The service is aimed at single homeless people sleeping on the streets of Lambeth. This will include people with an offending history, mental health needs and/or substance misuse problems, vulnerable and exploited women and refugees.
