Broadway's Street Outreach Teams make contact with people sleeping on the streets in London and link them with appropriate services such as health care, accommodation and learning opportunities.
Broadway's Outreach Service delivers street level outreach to people sleeping rough in:
- The City of London
- Kensington & Chelsea
- Heathrow Airport
We offer pathways for people into housing, detoxification, employment, medical services and the benefits system. By working with our partners we provide reconnection to A8 and A2 countries, where appropriate.
The teams also focus on those engaged in anti-social behaviour (for example begging, drinking, using drugs and sex working). We help people to access appropriate support services and enable the wider communitiy to regain a sense of safety.
How we work
We conduct our work from early morning until late into the night to identify people new to the streets and those entrenched. Frequently, we act upon reports provided by members of the public and partner agencies.
We try to build relationships with individuals through our assertive outreach model, where we work in partnership with drug and alcohol services, mental health services and the Police, to deliver a service that provides vital regular contact combined with an approach that challenges damaging lifestyles whilst offering routes to enable positive change.
