Skills 4 Jobs

Funded by the European Social Fund and Learning Skills Council, the S4J project is a pan-London consortium with Crisis as our lead partner. By identifying, focusing and building on client skills our goal is to help them back in to sustained employment. We offer weekly skills and training sessions both at the Broadway Centre in Shepherds Bush and Pratt Mews in Camden.

Work Directions

This project is in partnership with Work Directions Camden. Our goal is to work specifically with our Camden clients to help them find jobs. Our Work Coordinators focus directly on improving job skills by combining one to one sessions such as interview techniques with group sessions preparing CV's and improving communication, to identifying methods of job search.

Whites Row

At Whites Row we aim to achieve the sustained engagement of 12 clients. Working on a one-to-one basis sessions offer information, advice and guidance on a range of issues including life skills, debt management and employment.

ABC

ABC: Acton, Brent, Cricklewood project focuses on our most vulnerable clients, who are currently rough sleeping. The project maintains contact and communication and enables individuals to use the services at the Broadway Centre. These include consultations from our health team, access to a nurse and access to utilities such as laundry and showers. The project encourages clients to make use of the W&L support services.

Fresh Start

Fresh Start is our new NVQ assessment project in partnership with Red Kite. 12 clients with a history of substance misuse will be engaged in work placements and / or training and will be assessed to NVQ level 1 or 2 at the same time ensuring they come out with a qualification.

Join Up

Also run in conjunction with Red Kite, the focus of Join Up is sustained engagement with clients considered the "hardest to reach". These clients, who constitute some of our most vulnerable, will have potentially been street homeless for some time and will never have engaged fully before. Our goal is to initiate contact, maintain a forward moving relationship and encourage clients to regularly utilise all our services.

I'm glad I'm housed, it's a lovely flat - I've got a flat on the ground floor which is what I needed.
