Even a small sum will make a huge difference to the day of each homeless and vulnerable person we seek to help.
That difference is having food, being able to wash and having clean clothes. A larger sum will allow us
to provide the services that help people in the long term: advice, training and medical care.

After a night out in the cold, a hot breakfast can be extremely beneficial. As rough
sleepers tend to be more vulnerable to poor physical health, nutritious food can help
fight off illness. The Broadway Centre serves a full hot breakfast to approximately
25 rough sleepers every morning. This provides a valuable first point of contact from
which our support workers can engage individuals into further services.
£5 could buy 15 people who have spent last night on the street a hot and nutritious breakfast.

Many people arrive at our hostels with very few possessions. We try to provide our
residents with a "starter pack" of essential items. These include basic cooking
ingredients, shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. Having these items helps
welcome people to their new accommodation and allows them to make one more step in
starting a new life.

Statistics show that homeless people are much more susceptible to illness. We have a variety of
health related services at our Broadway Centre. These include a doctor, a nurse, an optician
and a podiatrist. We also offer alternative treatments, including ear acupuncture, shiatsu
and Indian head massage. These treatments reduce stress and have been linked to a reduction
in the "craving" symptoms of people with substance abuse problems.
